Could your charity/nfp help your clients access dental care and improve their dental health?
The ADA Dental Health Foundation (ADA DHF) is a registered Australian charity that coordinates the delivery of pro bono dental treatment to disadvantaged Australians in need of dental care. Volunteer dentists and their staff donate their time, skills and practice facilities in private dental surgeries across Australia, to provide dental treatment at no cost to these clients. Our volunteer dental programs aim to assist genuinely disadvantaged clients who have a desire to improve their oral health but have no ready access to the public dental system. ADA DHF State Coordinators liaise with registered charities and not-for-profit organisations to specifically target patients who would benefit from dental treatment and oral health advice. Patients must be a permanent resident of Australia and be aged between 18 – 65 years. They will be participating in one of the following programs:
- Domestic & Family Violence Support services
- Drug and/or Alcohol rehabilitation programs
- Those affected by mental health conditions
- Near homeless or homeless support or accommodation services
- Low socioeconomic background support services
Please be aware that your client may be eligible for public dental services. Public clinics around Australia provide dental treatment free of charge, or at low cost, to eligible patients. It is important that your clients register with their local clinic for ongoing oral health maintenance.
