Dental Rescue Days®
A day of care. A lifetime of impact.
Dental Rescue Days® bring volunteer dental teams together to provide care for multiple patients in a single dedicated treatment session.
Volunteer practices donate a half-day or full day of clinical time, allowing patients referred through community organisations to receive timely dental care in a supportive environment.
How it works
A participating practice commits one or more chairs for a dedicated treatment session.
ADA DHF coordinates:
Patient eligibility and referrals
Appointment scheduling
Communication with referring organisations
Administrative support
This allows volunteers to focus on what they do best: caring for patients.
Why Dental Rescue Days® matter
Many disadvantaged Australians face long waiting periods before they can access treatment.
Dental Rescue Days® help:
Reduce waiting lists
Provide acute and urgent care
Identify patients who require ongoing treatment
Connect vulnerable individuals with local dental support networks
FY26 Impact
17 Dental Rescue Days® were delivered nationally.
398 appointments were provided during these dedicated treatment events.
Volunteer practices across Australia donated clinics, equipment, materials and professional expertise to support patients in need.
Whole-practice volunteering
Dental Rescue Days® enable the entire dental team to contribute, including dentists, hygienists, oral health therapists, dental assistants and administrative staff. The events are designed to be high-impact, efficient and rewarding for participating teams.
How to Volunteer
Engaging in Dental Rescue Days presents a fantastic opportunity for your entire practice to contribute to the provision of pro bono dental care for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. Whether you choose to offer a full or half day, this initiative allows dental practitioners and their staff to extend their skills and compassion to a group of patients within their practice.
The process is simple: patients in need are referred by local charities and not-for-profit organisations, and the day's logistics are expertly organised with the assistance of your dedicated state coordinator.
Your participation can make a significant impact on the lives of those in our community who require essential dental care. For further details and to get involved please fill out and submit the form below, your state coordinator will then contact you.
